March has been full of PAWSOMENESS!! Between having a local author visit, literacy night, the book fair, weekly drawings for books, a glow party, a pizza party, flashlight reading, and adding up all our reading minutes, we've had a blast! Thank you to everyone that donated and made this a special month!!
Local author and illustrator, Laurie Keller, visited our students today for March is Reading Month. "Arnie the Doughnut" and "The Scrambled States of America" are a couple of her well-known books!
These rock stars earned recognition this month during our Hall of Fame assemblies!!! Take Responsibility!!

Thank you to our Middle School Administration team, counselors, and a former Churchill student who came to visit with our 5th graders today! This truly helps with the smooth transition from elementary to middle school.
Every Monday in March, students will return their reading minute slips from the week. All students that read 100 minutes or more, will be put into a drawing for a book and a bracelet! Congratulations to our winners for week #1. As an entire school, we read 41,700 minutes for the week!!
Our students learned about the "Red Glasses Movement" today led by our Mona Shores Middle School students. What a great opportunity for student leadership, student awareness, and bringing a powerful message to all..."Live Boldly. Love Big. Pass it On."
March is Reading Month and we are "Curling Up and Reading" in our pajamas with our stuffed animals, blankets, and forts!
We are going to have Michigan/Michigan State day this Thursday, March 2nd. This was a day we had originally scheduled before break after our coin war competition. Mr. Whitaker will be honoring his commitment by wearing MSU gear. Students are encouraged to wear Michigan (or anything blue) and/or Michigan State (or anything green).
Students who raised $100 or more for the Kids Heart Challenge celebrated today with Cosmic Bowling! 🎳
