Happy Thanksgiving Lincoln Park Families,

Please remember, tomorrow,  Wednesday, November 27 is a half day of school with 11:45 dismissal.  The LP CREW is thankful for all of our CREW members and CREW families.  We hope you have an amazing Thanksgiving. As December approaches, please find the following information helpful.

Information:

  • Our growth mindset for the month of December is “My EFFORT is most important”.  Teachers will remind students that showing effort is key to practice and learning.

Report Card Information:

  • Your student’s report card will be available for viewing online beginning on  Monday, December 9, capturing some of the learning that has transpired in the first trimester of school.

  • If you have questions or concerns regarding your student’s grades, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

  • If you require assistance viewing the report card using the PowerSchool portal, please contact the front office.

Winter Weather Reminders:

  • As winter weather is quickly approaching, be sure to send in a pair of shoes for students to wear in the classroom.  Snow boots cause unnecessary messes in the classroom and are not comfortable for students to wear the whole day.

  • Please send students to school prepared for our outdoor recesses each day with appropriate outdoor clothing:  hats, mittens, boots, and snow pants.  Lunch recess is 20 minutes M-F and students have an additional 30 minutes of outside play T-F. This time is much more enjoyable when students are dressed appropriately for the winter weather.  Students will have outdoor recess unless the air temperature or wind chill is 5 degrees or below.

Important Reminders:

  • If your child is ill, please refer to the attached document when making the decision on whether to send your student to school or keep them home.

  • Students may not be dropped off earlier than 8:10. If you arrive earlier than this, you will need to keep your child in your car until you see staff members present beginning at 8:10.

  • Please write your child’s name or initials inside their lunchbox, coat, mittens, hats, snow pants etc… We have many lost and found items brought to the office each day, and this increases the odds that your child’s items will be returned to them when they misplace them.

Coaches needed:

  • We are looking for coaches for Girls on Run. More information about coaching and registration can be found here https://www.gotrwm.org/coach

All questions can be sent to szatkowskia@monashores.net. Registration for girls in grades 3-5 opens on December 1st and the season begins in February.

Toys For Tots:

  • Our 5th Grade Early Act Group is organizing our Toys for Tots donations this year.  If you wish to spread holiday cheer through toy donations, your student can bring those to the office until December 15.

PTO News:

  • There is no December PTO meeting. If you are interested in giving input or helping out, please contact our PTO: lincolnparkptocrew@gmail.com
